Pubcast 177 – Copperpoint Brewing, Florida

Mark has returned from a trip to Florida, and returned bearing growlers and cans from 2 breweries, Copperpoint Brewing amd Due South Brewing Co.
First up, we have a classically brewed Belgian Wit called Copperpoint Witness.
Second, it’s the straight up Copperpoint Lager – nothing fancy again, just a classic brew.
And lastly from A10 Hop Hog, their red IPA.
Our final recommendation comes from another Boynton Beach brewery, Due South Brewing Co.  This brew is their Category 3 IPA which is their flagship IPA.

Pubcast 175 – Special Edition – Metal Monkey

To celebrate the opening of yet another Chicago suburban brewery, we went down to the grand opening of Metal Monkey Brewing, in Romeoville.
There we spoke with the Simian Overlord himself, Dan Camp, and discovered some of the background to how they came into production mode.  Joined by Brett Smith, the VP of BS, and later the third in the brewing trio, Jason Janes, Director of Hops, Malt & Awesomeness, this podcast provides a flavor for their first beer offerings and the excitement of opening day!
Phil (USBrit) is joined by Jon Harlson and Tom Ryan who pass comment on their premier beers. We’ll be back later to explore the brew crew’s style and philosophy in more detail, but for now enjoy this special edition of the pubcast!

Pubcast 171 – Dark Star Brewing (UK)

The pubcast returns from the holiday break, and we have an international flavor to this edition.  We visit a UK brewery in Sussex on the south coast, Dark Star Brewing, who have been around since 1994 and can be considered one of the bigger brewers on the south coast of England.
Head Brewer, Alex Paterson, took time out of his brewing day to chat to us, and also many thanks to the brewery marketing diva, Stephanie Chitty for arranging it all.
We also taste some of their brews, and have smuggled back a couple for Mark Naski to taste and pass his ‘expert’ opinion upon.
We don’t desert our Illinois brewers, as Noon Whistle has new brew out to sample, Magie Noir, which seems to defy categorization but turns out to be tasty!

Pubcast 169 – Sour Ales

We’ve got some interesting beers to review in this show, mostly sours of one kind or another.
We have 4 Hands Constellation, Flesk 3rd Anniversary Grand Cru, and Schlafly IBEX series Eleventh Labor.  Our Style of the Week is Lambic, and we sample Lindeman‘s Faro Lambic.
Also, our report from 4 Hands Brewing should give you a flavor for this St. Louis brewery.
All this and music from Railway Records artist Sarah Holtschlag. Cheers!
