Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee – Show 14
May 7, 2007
We’re live from the Beer Garden of The Brit and Yankee
today!!
Below are approximate start times for each segment – skip
forward to the piece you want to listen to, or just listen to us all. Remember there is a STOP/START button!!
00:00 Introduction
04:00 Dave G joins
the lads for this weeks beer tasting of Japanese beer.
We sample Hitachino Red Rice Ale and Lacto Sweet Stout,
while Dave G. has managed to get a bottle of Pale Ale.
The Red Rice ale has the look of strawberry lemonade but
slightly cloudier and darker, and the taste has remnants of strawberry, plus a
kind of strange, sour taste.
The Lacto Sweet Stout was very lively, and explodes over
USBrit, but is a much better flavor and has lactose in it, so it qualifies as a
milk stout.

We forgot to rate the beers on the show, so here’s a
post-show rating…
Red Rice Ale –
5/10 for novelty only
Sweet Stout -
7/10, amazed this type of beer could come out of Japan.
17:27 We spin this
week’s Globe of Beer, and land ‘down under’ in Australia – listen in next time
to see what we find.

yourself a meal!
Everyone’s opinion…the Bubba sure is a tasty burger!
