Pubcast from The Brit and Yankee – Show 12

April 9, 2007

Today’s show has an EXCLUSIVE interview!!!

00:00    Show Opening

04:19    The Globe of Beer selection takes us to Europe, and the romantic country of Italy.

The first of our two beers is Peroni Nastro Azzurro, a premium lager.  The flavor is a step-up from Miller, but there is a ‘skunky’ aroma to it, and this follows through in the after-taste.  We say pretty good with a big plate of pasta, but otherwise not our cuppa! USBrit’s rating - 5/10.

The second offering is Birra Moretti La Rossa, described as a dunkler bock.  It is a nice amber color, pours well and has a good flavor.  Lingo says he’d order this is he was at an Italian restaurant!   Lingo’s rating – 7.5/10

21:27    Larry Simon is a Chicago voice-over personality.  We met with him over coffee, and talked about his somewhat unusual profession.  This is the second and last part of that interview.

37:38    Check out a little British-influenced guitar-pop with Chicago band, The Jerrys.

This track is “When I’m in Love” from the CD ‘Best of The Jerrys’

42:43    There’s a listener email, and Lingo appears to be ‘moonlighting’ on a new gameshow!

45:28    Finally, here is part one of our feature about DARTS, with an exclusive interview with darts historian, Dr. Patrick Chaplin.  Yes folks, he is a real doctor, with a PhD in the social history of darts in the interwar years.  He shares his wealth of knowledge with USBrit, as we explore the history and facts behind the game of darts.  Also, USbrit and Lingo play the first game of their best of three challenge.
